The Sugarplum Fairies: 3 Little Dolls Ready to Play

The Sugarplum Fairies: 3 Little Dolls Ready to Play

These girls and I have been busy crafting and planning exciting presents to make for my family. But it is now time they find their home so they can help you too ❤️.

They started by asking what sort of presents I was happy to make. Been inclined to the sewing machine (my beautiful vintage Husqvarna) and the knitting needles, I confessed these would be more up my alley.

Then they asked for paper and pencil and went around the house collecting ‘clues’ they said. Opening drawers and secretly hearing conversations to gather enough intelligence and make a good decision.

These fairies are true professionals!

Then they gave me a full report. What so and so liked, lacked or wanted. Based on such pertinent gatherings, we went to the fabric store and the wool shop. Of course we had to stop on the way (many times) to admire the windows dressed in gingerbread houses and luscious ribbons, sample the smells of hot chocolate and roasting chestnuts and watch with wonder the streets’ shimmering lights on our way home.

The girls were ecstatic to have been able to help me figure out my Santa endeavours. They gave me a few pointers regarding most-sturdy seams for toiletry bags and recommended I purchased shiny zippers.

They glossed over the beauty of embroidered details and fat monograms, and utterly convinced me of adding leather soles to slippers. So I guess I will be busy in the coming weeks friends, dearly hope you are up to no good too.

If you are in need of sidekick in your crafty room, or would like a helping hand with the mountains of baking that plague our to-do lists at this time of the year, look no further. I have “just the thing” 🦌.

These three little dolls, as you can gather, are expect partners-in-crime and will not only help with substituting spices, but also enlighten you regarding seam treatments, fabric choices, paint colours and trims. I feel I don’t have to tell you that they are expert storytellers and will spin a yarn to seduce an entire crowd. This is best accomplished under candle light, by the hearth, with the wind howling outside and wrapped up in blankets. But you can be the best judge of the situation.

They are in search of a home that can help them live their best life ❤️.

Yule is the elder sister, and she wears a Tiffany-blue dress with red dots on the sleeves and a pretty red collar. Her woollen boots are sure to keep her legs warm and her cosy cape will do the same for her shoulders.

Yule’s hair (medium blonde) is very long and made of Suri Alpaca locks. This hairstyle cannot be brushed, must be styled with very gentle care and patient fingers.

Snowflake is the middle sister and has the longest hair of the three. Her hair is also Suri Alpaca in a white colour, all girls have natural shades, undyed hair.

Snowflake prefers baking to sewing or knitting and she is an accomplished icing queen. If you feel daunted by icing a gingerbread house, she will do an entire castle with turrets for you!

Snowflake wears a pink striped dress with light mint polka dot sleeves and pink merino collar. She also has a matching set of melton wool boots and cape.

Mistletoe is the youngest sister and just like her siblings, she has natural shade Suri Alpaca hair but much shorter than her sisters. She is very happy to keep growing it up and has big dreams of wearing a crown braid one day.

She wears a light mint dress with red polka dot sleeves and pink merino collar. All the girls’ dresses are adorned with vintage ric-rac, velvet ribbon and wool felt beads. Their dresses open fully at back.

They also wear long wool boots and short capes, bloomer-style underwear and hand-knitted pink wool crowns.

They are 9” tall and are stuffed and felted with wool, cotton doll skin, weighted with glass beads in their belly. They are fiber art dolls suitable for much older children 12+ (due to small parts and the care required with their hair) or adult doll collectors.

If you are interested in giving one of them a home, please enter your details in the form below.

The three little fairies have now found a loving home. We were pleasantly surprised at the avalanche of willing families and we thank you for helping us close the year in such high spirits! It is only through your support that my hands keep making dolls 🥰.

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all Fig&Me friends! 🎄
