Bronwen, Anwen and Morwen: three natural dolls ready to play.

It's always lots of fun having dolls in the studio. Especially when they have siblings, because they help out each other choose clothing, they keep each other company, and hopefully, they don't pester themselves too, too much.

Anwen, Morwen and Bronwen.

These three have been with me for quite some time, and I do hate to see them go. But, as I promised them many moons ago, I will not keep them here forever, but instead, release them into the wide, wide world, full of adventure and magic. Of kind arms that hug tight, of gentle hands that caress and play.

Bronwen

Bronwen, a natural fiber art doll by Fig and Me.

We will start with Bronwen, because she is the eldest and has won the rights. After taking such good care of her two sisters, I think we can give her the first place, right?

Bronwen is a little girl, that is about to be not so little. Bronwen is starting to change. To see the world with different, more knowing eyes. To see the faults in her elders, the mistakes, sometimes to notice the little white lies.

Bronwen is quiet, and tries to understand all that she is going through. Always with kindness she directs her voice to the other two, always giving them the chance of feeling cared for, understood, listened to.

She spends many hours writing and pouring her heart out on her many journals. Not just writing her stories, but those she comes up with, that she pens sometimes for her sisters to listen to at night, while they all lie with wet hair on cold pillows, in darkened rooms. In those moments, Bronwen likes to pretend she is actually inside of her story, and that Anwen and Morwen are also there. They become valiant warriors, riding powerful steeds, for days on end. Seeing new lands, meeting new people. I think Bronwen is so ready to leave this nest, that she created with so much love surrounded by her sisters, and instead get to be the actual character in the story of her life. She is ready to become.

Bronwen will be sent into the wide, wide world, wearing a slightly felted merino dress with "mom pockets" (as my friend Amber at The Sculpted Sock decided to call them and we agreed). Bronwen loves those pockets because it helps her stash the many things her sisters are always giving her to keep, hide or carry home. Her dress has 3/4 length sleeves, and added hem of cashmere and three beautiful metal shabby chic buttons. It closes on back with sewn-in snaps.

She also has a second two-tier dress made with silk dupioni, and a cute metal clasp on the front. Sometimes Bronwen likes to wear it under her merino dress but it can certainly be worn by itself.

Bronwen wears white jersey underpants (not pictured for modesty reasons!), and a pair of hand-knitted tall boots. As well as a short capelet that hugs her wee shoulders when the weather turns.

Because Bronwen loves all things girly, she requested a little crown made of tulle flowers. We think she looks just so adorable. Bronwen is a 19" Petite Fig, made with swiss jersey and stuffed with clean wool. She is weighted heavily in her torso with glass beads, which gives her a very beautiful feeling when you hold her in your hands. Bronwen's face has been sculpted with needle-felting techniques, her blue eyes embroidered and freckles (full body) hand painted. Her hair is made with straight suri alpaca locks, and must be treated gently.

If you would like to bring Bronwen home, please enter your details in the form below. Her price is $1300 USD (shipping to US is $50, Canada $65 and International will need a revised quote depending on service selected). Only one entry per family for Bronwen (buy you are welcomed to enter for all three dolls) and only enter if you personally want to bring Bronwen home, and not on behalf of someone else. Her form will stay live until tomorrow Wednesday March 1st at 6 PM MST at which point we will select a family at random to bring her home. Paypal invoice will be sent then and is due upon receipt.

- - - Entry form has now been deleted. We have notified Bronwen's family and if all goes well, she should be traveling soon to her new home. Thank you kindly for opening your doors to Little Bronwen!.

Anwen

Anwen, a natural fiber art doll by Fig and Me.

Our middle child is a bit troubled. Always thinking she is left behind, less liked, less fussed over. But she is of course not right. Anwen just tends to live in her own little world and most of the time she goes unnoticed because she is totally unaware of her environment.

Anwen loves to play in a pretend world of her own. This world doesn't change, but her character in it does. Most of the time she is a mermaid with such powers that she can become a sort of winged fairy or a sorceress. If she is wearing her white cloaked hat, most likely she is feeling sorceress. If she has flowers all about herself, then she is a fairy. In the odd occasion she lets her hair down, then she must surely be covered in scales and therefore cannot come to help you hang the laundry.

Anwen looks up to Bronwen. She admires her deeply, and some days she wished she could be the oldest sister. So sure of herself, of her path. So trusting of her own future. Anwen is always full of doubt, even anguish. She cannot decide with certitude on the simplest matters: butter or jam? Sweep the floors or dry the dishes? Tolstoy or CS Lewis? Anwen just wishes she knew. That she could make a decision. But instead, she turns around and goes into the living room and pretends she is a mermaid. I mean, there are worse things to be in the world.

Anwen wears a lovely, long alpaca-cashmere dress with alpaca ribbing on the sleeves. The dress has an added bib, two buttons, turtle neck, and closes on back with sewn in snaps.

Under this dress, Anwen loves to wear another one she has, made with silk dupioni and a lovely metal clasp. This dress is tiered and a bit longer than her cashmere one, so sometimes it peeps out. Anwen loves to wear it for fancy outings and when it gets too hot.

She also comes with white jersey underpants and a lovely knitted triangular shawl. This shawl is very springy and Anwen uses it all sorts of ways. To carry pic-nics, to cover her face, to read mystery books under it, or to cradle massive amounts of wildflowers she carries home.

Anwen requested a pair of chunky alpaca boots, so that she can be properly clad when on adventure. Because sorceress must have a distinguishing item of clothing and she really didn't want a long cloak, we made her a medieval-looking cloaked hat, but with a bit of lace she said. The hat closes on front with sewn in snaps.

Anwen is an 18" Petite Fig, made with swiss jersey and stuffed with clean wool. She is weighted heavily in her torso with glass beads, which gives her a very beautiful feeling when you hold her in your hands. Anwen's face has been needle-felted, eyes embroidered and freckles (full body) hand painted. Anwen's hair is very long suri alpaca locks, and must be treated very, very gently.

Morwen

Morwen, a natural cloth art doll by Fig and Me.

And finally, the fire cracker. The one that makes them all spin, fuss and wonder what they did to deserve her? Morwen is the youngest (not the littlest she reminded me), and she has Bronwen and Anwen twisted around her little finger so to speak. Her every wish becomes their command, not because she is the youngest, but because she is the funniest and is always making them giggle.

Morwen is a bit of a gooffy, silly girl. Loves her picture taken, loves to participate in group games and plays, and adores being part of dances. As you can imagine, Morwen ends up being the center of attention mostly everywhere she goes, but she is not too full of herself. She takes things with a good dose of cheer and thanks her lucky stars for all the good that comes her way.

Morwen loves to be tucked in bed by her sisters, knowing fully well that a real good story awaits from Bronwen, with a giggle here or there from Anwen. Morwen takes the lead with all the right commentary, asks proper questions, and makes her sister laugh way too loud into the night. When they get scolded, and her name is sung in unison by the feeble traitors, she smiles. She could never hold it against them, she loves to make them laugh.

Morwen adores her sisters and knows they will have bright and beautiful lives. How does she know? She just does. Morwen is one of those lucky dolls that has so much trust in the world, so much faith in her path, that even when things don't go right as planned, she can still see the good in them. Morwen is special.

Morwen wears an über long alpaca-angora dress, with two long tiers that gives it a lot of swish and pouf. It has raglan sleeves, and ribbing on cuffs and collar. She chose a tiny little dark button to accent it. The dress closes on back with sewn in snaps.

Under this dress, Morwen wears another one made of silk dupioni. This is the shorter of the three silk dresses, because Morwen wanted this dress to help the knitted one stand up and give her skirt more oomph. Morwen has very particular ideas about her clothing as you can witness.

She has white jersey underpants with pink elastic and very cozy alpaca flats. Because she likes to be comfortable and they are the best for dancing she said.

Morwen wears a little knitted shawl, that she just loves to tuck under her arms. Because she is such a tender girl, she picked a little leather band, with the tiniest of tulle flowers as accent. I hope you can see and understand how particular Morwen is with her clothes. Everything has a purpose in her world, and she chooses things with a lot of thought and mindfulness.

Morwen is an 18" Petite Fig, made with swiss jersey and clean wool. She has been weighted in her torso and that gives her a lovely feel when you hold her up. Morwen's face was sculpted using needle-felting techniques, I embroidered her brown eyes and painted all those tiny freckles (full body). Her hair is alpaca curly locks and they need to be treated very gently (they are so bouncy, shiny and soft!).

If you would like to bring Morwen home, she is available a little bit different than her sisters. She is available via Make Me An Offer listing. You can enter your details in the form below, with the amount that you think you can afford to pay for Morwen. We would like to set the starting price to be around the same as her sisters, $1300 USD. The person with the highest offer will be taking Morwen home. In all honesty, I just couldn't do an auction for her because they shatter my nerves and I feel they make people bid up to crazy town. This way everybody has a bit more time to consult with their pillow and make an honest offer on their name.

Morwen's form will be live until March 1st at 7 PM MST. I set a different time, so you can have time to enter for her if you didn't get lucky with Anwen or Bronwen. Remember you are most certainly welcome to enter for all three dolls, but only on behalf of yourself and not of someone else.

Tomorrow at 7 PM we will email the person with the highest offer and send them an invoice via Paypal which is due upon receipt. Shipping quotes are $50 to the US, $65 to Canada and International can have a revised quote based on service selected.

- - - The entry form has now been deleted and Morwen has found a home. Thank you so much for your generosity, for asking questions, for having secrets and for all the love you bestowed on this little one. If all goes well Miss Morwen should be traveling to her new home very soon, but she promised to keep in touch with her sisters.

So there you have it. Three little girls, with different outlooks on life, different personalities and characteristics. Each one of my dolls is not just one of a kind, they are one in a million as I like to say. They are bright little wooly souls, that ponder questions, return hugs and make me one of the luckiest persons alive. They become good friends, and when they are ever so lucky, become true members of the families that welcome them. We know them by name, we remember their birthdays, we make them cake.

Thank you for coming to read my little doll stories, and for choosing to spend precious time of your life focusing your intention in this little corner of the world.

My deepest gratitude is with you, and to those opening your doors to my wool children: may the lucky stars shine bright! See you all tomorrow.
